Training Programs

  • » Basic

    Emphasis is on teaching the foundational ability to move in specific patterns, such as: the squat, push-up, press, lunge, hip hinge, jumping and landing technique using mainly bodyweight and low levels of resistive modalities. Overall, good movement skill is expected before more standard resistance training can occur.

    All athletes are required to complete an evaluation before they are able to register for this program.

  • » Intermediate

    Consistent movement quality is present and base strength can be taught and progressed using proper lifting technique. Expectations are for each athlete to have good functional movement, good lifting technique and complete mastery of their bodyweight. Resistance loading using barbells, dumbbells, cords, tubing, plates, med balls, sandbags, kettlebells will challenge both neurological and physiological adaptation to occur within the athlete. Sprinting and jumping mechanics continue to be developed and the athlete will accumulate field-specific conditioning.

    All athletes are required to complete an evaluation before they are able to register for this program.

  • » Advanced

    Athletes in this level are above average in strength, stability, mobility and movement speed skills. A strong focus is on strength and power development. Safe and effective periodized programs are used to progress strength skill and Olympic weightlifting related exercises. There will be ongoing development of speed with specific focus on multi-directional agility skill. As always, on-field conditioning will be maximized through repeated sprint ability and the use of training implements.

    All athletes are required to complete an evaluation before they are able to register for this program.

    Athletic Development & Sport Specific Training Program designed specifically for Presbyterian School of Houston athletes. Athlete Training + Health (formerly CES Performance) has become the most trusted resource for amateur athletes and youth sports organizations across Houston.

    The partnership with Presbyterian School of Houston allows Presbyterian students to improve their speed, strength and agility at a pro-level training facility with the best performance coaches in Houston.

    Athletes in our Elite training group are current professional athletes. This training will be a smaller elite group of athletes with a more individualized set program. This program will help the professional athletes return to their respected teams prepared for the rigors of team practices. When a athlete begins this program we will establish a strength standard that the coach will utilize to progress each athlete off a percentage based strength and power program. The on-field training will incorporate acceleration, multi-direction, max velocity, as well as change of direction. The elite program will utilize resistance in varying ways: resistance bands, medicine balls, dumbells, kettlebells, barbells, and Keiser pneumatic air systems.

    Elite athletes train at Athlete Training + Health. The world-class training facility and experienced group of performance coaches create an environment that is for athletes playing at an Elite/Pro level.

  • » Collegiate/Pro-Prep Training

    Athletes in this program are current college athletes or those aspiring to become a professional athlete. This program will embody that of a collegiate speed and strength program with a main emphasis on strength and power development. A new athlete in this program will go through a week of hypertrophy to build a base strength and progress to their strength and power phases. The on-field training will encompass acceleration, multi-direction, top end speed, as well as change of direction. The collegiate program will utilize resistance in varying ways: resistance bands, medicine balls, dumbells, kettlebells and barbells.

    Collegiate athletes or those athletes trying to play at the next level train at Athlete Training + Health. The world-class training facility and experienced group of performance coaches create an environment that is for athletes playing at a collegiate level.

    Athlete Training + Health has prepared over 1,000 players for the league in the last 20 years. This program runs January through February and includes performance testing, skill training, nutritional consultation, meals and more.
